Stevenson Alum debuts EP

Soccer player, the Voice auditionee and a student at Ball State University.  An avid singer and athlete, even after graduating Stevenson, Lauren Hall ’12 went on to play soccer in college as well as audition for the Voice.

Hall began auditioning for singing shows her junior year of Stevenson and has now auditioned for American Idol once and the Voice three times. However, Hall always prioritized soccer over music. After years of playing soccer, Hall was offered a scholarship to play soccer at Ball State University.

“I always wanted to make music but I never knew how,” Hall said.

Recently, Hall was asked to make her own Extended Play (EP) album. An EP is an recording that is more than one single but not long enough to account for a full length album. After performing at a few smaller gigs, Hall was approached to make her debut EP by her new agent Chris Johnson who found her on the ReverbNation website. ReverbNation is a website designed to give artists a way to find opportunities to book venues or get a record deal.

To fund her album, Hall uses a crowdfunding site called Indiegogo, where people can donate to help her reach her goal. Hall has currently raised $830 but her goal is $1750 by March 13, 2015. As a Stevenson alum, Hall hopes to reach out to the community in her efforts to create her debut EP.
